Computer virus HELP, crash or not!?

Hey my laptop currently has a virus. I won't let me download programs or update anything. I also have to use a wire to get online because I cant get on wireless. A friend suggested to me that I should crash my computer. I cannot download any programs and all of my virus programs(well any program I have) is out of date and I can't update. I'm worried that crashing will do bad things to my computer and i'm debating on crashing or call Geek squad. What should I do xD
